The home was designed and built in 1938 by famous architect Heinte, Adler, Schutze by Phillip Trammel Shutze, the designer of The Swan House in Atlanta, along with other fine homes, for the Mayor of Albany. Mrs. Boyd was the wife of prominent physician in Albany, hometown Aiken SC, first woman math major graduate from University of Virginia, and a master’s degree in biochemistry from William & Mary, and loved to provide flowers for St Paul’s Church from her back yard.
